My name is Carey Schwarzer. I am a Certified Health Coach, specializing in helping individuals and families with children.
I would like to educate, motivate, and empower everyone who wants to improve their health. I believe that to make a lasting change, the steps have to be simple and sustainable.
The Dr. Sears Traffic Light eating that I teach in the Lean Start individual sessions is exactly that, healthy eating made simple. The Prime Time Health Plan that I offer for adults is a scientifically proven plan for feeling young and living longer.

My personal Journey to Healthier Nutrition
As a Division I college athlete, and then a professional athlete, I always tried to fuel my body with the right foods, eating certain amounts of protein or carbs.
It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my son and learning all about nutrition in my birthing class that I started to realize that my knowledge of nutrition was quite limited. I started reading everything that I could about raising a healthy family.When my son turned three, I discovered that certain foods really had an impact on his behavior. I did some research and adjusted both or our diets, and was surprised that my health also improved.
As a teacher, I see kids every day eating a junk food diet, struggling to stay on task or meet standard in the classroom. When I made the discovery that the food we eat not only affects our physical health, but also our mental and emotional well being, I was "hooked".
Health and wellness became my passion. I wanted to share what I was learning with others, but it can be challenging to explain the complexities of nutrition in a way so that everybody would understand. That is why I decided to become a Dr. Sears certified health coach, so that I could educate, motivate, and empower more families to live a healthy lifestyle.
I received my health coach certification through the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute which has been offering health coach certification online since 2008. The coaching program was developed by Dr. Bill Sears, one of America’s most trusted family physicians, and a team of experts.
The Dr. Sears Wellness Institute believes in a holistic approach to wellness, using science-based information to educate clients about the four pillars of health: lifestyle, exercise, attitude and nutrition.
“As an official health and wellness coach, I want to support you in improving your or your family’s health and achieving your personal health goals. I will assist you in using your insight, personal strengths, and resources to set goals and take action steps toward making healthy lifestyle changes.
I believe in bio-individuality, which means that everyone has their own unique genetic make-up, and there is no one-size-fits-all diet. In my individual coaching sessions, we are able to dig deeper into your family's story, and explore which nutrient dense foods are best for you and your family.
